Cambridge Caregivers CEO Featured on NPR’s Marketplace
At Cambridge Caregivers, we’re in the people business—at the heart of everything we do is trust, compassion, and connection. Our clients rely on us to provide exceptional care in the comfort of their homes, and that begins with hiring and retaining the very best caregivers.
But today, finding and keeping those caregivers is harder than ever. Demand for quality care is growing rapidly, while the available workforce continues to shrink.
That’s why our CEO, Adam Lampert, was recently featured on NPR’s Marketplace to speak on a deeply important topic: the need for balanced and thoughtful immigration policy.
Adam shared that many of our caregivers—about 80%—are immigrants, most from Africa. They are legally authorized to work in the U.S. and bring not just skill and dedication, but warmth, dignity, and cultural richness to the people they serve. Sadly, very few American-born individuals are applying for these roles, making immigrant caregivers an essential part of elder care in this country.
With America’s aging population expected to surpass 80 million by 2050, restrictive immigration policies could have a devastating impact on the quality of care available to seniors.
We believe in safety and compassion. Policymakers must find a way to support both—ensuring our communities are protected without turning away the very people who care for our loved ones.
