Zingage: Recognizing Caregivers Who Go Above and Beyond

At Cambridge Caregivers, providing exceptional care to our clients begins with supporting the caregivers who make that possible. Recently, we took another step toward that goal with the introduction of Zingage, a digital tool that provides “spot rewards” to caregivers who go the extra mile.

Zingage is a feature within WellSky, Cambridge’s online work management platform. Staff members use WellSky to schedule and manage caregiver shifts, while caregivers use the platform to clock in and out of their shifts. Zingage was added in late 2025.

Cambridge Chief Operating Officer Ernie Cote and Director of Operations Lindsay Feldman first learned about Zingage while attending a WellSky conference last year. They immediately recognized the tool as an opportunity to further recognize and show appreciation to caregivers.

“Zingage encourages caregivers to use the WellSky app consistently, especially for clocking in and out, but it also allows us to recognize caregivers when they truly go above and beyond for a client,” said Christina Solis, Caregiver Manager for Cambridge Caregivers.

Sometimes those moments come directly from grateful clients. In one recent example, a caregiver stayed a few minutes beyond the end of her shift to help a client who was struggling to create a spreadsheet on his computer. As it turned out, the caregiver had Excel certification and was able to walk the client through the process, turning a frustrating moment into a positive and empowering experience.

Through Zingage, schedulers, administrative staff, and company leadership can send caregivers a spot reward—ranging from $5 to $20—as a token of appreciation when they receive exceptional feedback from clients or observe extraordinary effort. Caregivers can receive multiple spot rewards and redeem them for gift cards from a wide variety of popular retailers, restaurants, and entertainment providers, including Kroger, Target, Amazon, Starbucks, and AMC Theatres.

Company leaders emphasize that Zingage is only one part of Cambridge Caregivers’ broader commitment to supporting its caregiving team. The company also offers competitive pay, health insurance, paid time off, gas stipends, and a company-paid employee assistance program. In addition, caregivers are compensated for their time spent in training programs.

The spot rewards also help reinforce something caregivers consistently tell Cambridge leadership matters most: knowing their work is seen and valued.

“Caregivers spend their days supporting others,” Solis said. “Zingage is just one small way we can give that same care and recognition back to them.”
