Cambridge Caregivers Roundtable

Caregivers and company leaders shared a meal and a chance to share joys and concerns.

Life is busy at Cambridge Caregivers. Every day, our scheduling and marketing team takes incoming clients’ requests, matches them with members of our team of caregivers, and schedules the caregivers’ shifts. Meanwhile, our caregivers are providing care in our clients’ homes. The focus is always on meeting clients’ needs. But it’s always good to set aside time to take a breath, take stock and get to know each other better.

That’s why the team gathered recently at a Roundtable luncheon, attended by seven invited members of our caregiving team along with company leaders CEO Adam Lampert and Chief Relationship Officer Brian Levy. Attendees enjoyed a complimentary lunch and a raffle for a chance to win a $50 gift card.

“You were invited here because we wanted to celebrate you and all the hard work that you guys do,” said Lisa Kramer Morgan, a Community Liaison for Cambridge Caregivers. “We host these roundtables to get to know you on a deeper level, but also because we want to know how we can do things better and be more of a support to you. You’re the boots on the ground and you know what’s happening.”

Kramer Morgan and Cindy Greenberg, also a Community Liaison, started the quarterly roundtables almost two years ago. At the most recent event, caregivers shared their concerns as well as their appreciation for the company’s leadership.

“I’ve worked with other agencies; this is the first agency that I see that they appreciate caregivers, where you’re valued, and you can sit with the bosses,” said caregiver Abby. “It gives you confidence, even when you have challenges along the way. I am happy and honored to be part of this wonderful family.”

“I injured myself lifting a client on one of my first weeks on the job,” another caregiver, Chiddy, shared. “Cambridge took very good care of me until I got better. That was my first positive impression of Cambridge, because, in my experience, other agencies just tell you to go home and come back when you’re better.”

“I don’t know where you’re getting your clients from, but they are wonderful people,” said caregiver Sohila. “I really enjoy working with them. Many of my clients feel like family.”

CEO Adam Lampert closed the roundtable by sharing his own reflections with members of the caregiving team.

“This is a human business,” he said. “As the CEO, I’m not the person who goes into clients’ homes. You are. We host these roundtables because we want you to meet the people who are here in the office to support you. If you call on the phone, and talk to a scheduler who talks really fast, you might assume she’s a little rude. But if you get to know her, you know where her heart is. You know she’s here advocating for you. When you can put a face with a name, you know this is a team that truly wants to support you.”
