What Do The Reviews Say?
Today, I want to tell you about three things that will guide you to making the right elder care decision.
Some people can make elder care plans ahead of time. However, others are pushed into making a quick decision only after an incident, such as a fall at home.
No matter which elder care category you fall into, this email will give you the guidance you need.
Do not just follow a list that is available online or given to you. Do your homework and get the answers to the following three questions:
1. What do the reviews say?
Former UCLA Basketball Coach John Wooden is famous for saying, “Be quick, but don’t hurry.” This is true for your elder care search; while you want to make a decision quickly, don’t skip over the star ratings and reviews other clients have shared. These will help you identify where to devote your research time, and, just as importantly, which providers to avoid.
2. What is the patient-to-staff ratio?
If you are looking at a care home, I emphasize this is a question you MUST ask. There are some care homes and facilities with patient-to-staff ratios of 20:1. By comparison, Manchester Care Homes has a 4:1 ratio. When looking into a care home, make sure you ask this question to ensure your loved one gets the level of care they need.
3. What are Trusted Health Care Professionals Saying?
Again, don’t just trust the lists you find. Talk to a health care professional you trust, get referrals from them because these individuals are less likely to jeopardize their reputations. This is why Cambridge Caregivers is proud to have received five star reviews from physicians who have entrusted their patients and family members to our care.
If you are planning for elder care and don’t know where to begin, call me or hit reply to this email. I will help guide you to the right solution for your family.
